December Nights is a traditional winter celebration hosted by the entire Balboa Park community. The event occurs every year on the first Friday and Saturday of December. You can walk through the beautiful park area decorated with seasonal festive decorations and learn more about different cultures and their ways of celebrating the season.
The House of Finland has always been happy to represent Finland as the home of Santa Claus and the true spirit of Christmas. And you might even have a chance to meet Santa at the house! All the national houses offer goods from their cultures, and all the money gathered will fund the operational costs of the non-profit houses. The House of Finland is usually offering traditional homemade winter-season foods such as - Vegan pea soup - Meatballs with homemade gravy and mashed potatoes - Vegan Finnish beet salad - Rice porridge - Smoked salmon spread with crackers. And for the sweet tooths, - Cinnamon rolls - Gingerbreads - Gingerbread cake Explore the park's seasonal glory, feel the holiday spirit, and enjoy learning from different cultures. |
